Why join the CorridorAccess service?
CorridorAccess offers an end-to-end cloud solution for both contractors and road owners to collaborate and communicate on permits. It allows member Road Controlling Authorities that want to protect their road assets from damage and / or interruption to be made aware of any intention to work on or near, or close a road corridor, for any purpose.
Asset owners become members of the beforeUdig service by registering the location of their underground assets and will then receive notifications of any intended works lodged as an enquiry with the beforeUdig service. By doing this, asset owners will be notified immediately when contractors or others who use beforeUdig are planning to excavate on or around their assets.
Contractors undertaking excavation use CorridorAccess because it is easy to submit a single enquiry and quickly make contact with the relevant Road Controlling Authority.
In addition, a separate site exists for non-excavation activities, allowing applicants to notify Road Controlling Authorities of their intention to close roads for events or other such purposes.

How does PermitAccess work?
STEP 1: Applicants generate their asset location request via the regions One Call service for excavation works. If the dig site falls within the road corridor for a participating Permit Authority a permit application is also generated. For those who require Non-Excavation permits the participating Permit Authority will direct the applicant to the CorridorAccess site to apply. This site generates and manages non-excavation permit application requests exclusively.
STEP 2: During the permit approval process Applicants and Permit Authorities can exchange documents such as Terms and Conditions, photos and Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) as well as view/edit progress of the permit application. Approval documents can also be provided.
